What Is Creature Collection?

A concise guide to building an Aevendorn roster and choosing a three-creature battle team. See the short creature-collection answer on the homepage.

Quick answer

Creature collection is the activity of acquiring creatures to build a roster. In Aevendorn, you choose three creatures from that roster as a team for tactical grid battles.

You can add creatures by opening packs or crafting specific creatures with shards, then review their abilities and stats in your collection. A new account starts with three creatures and two packs. Bloodline fusion changes the roster by replacing two selected parent creatures with one new offspring.

How creature collection works in Aevendorn

How do I start a creature collection?

Start with the three creatures and two packs that a new Aevendorn account receives. Open packs or craft specific creatures with shards, then review the resulting roster in your collection and choose three creatures for a tactical grid battle.

How can you browse an Aevendorn collection?

Open the Collection screen to search owned creatures by name, filter them by realm or favorites, and sort the roster by recency, rarity, power, health, name, or realm. Select a creature card there to inspect its details.

Is a collection the same as a battle team?

No. Your collection is the full roster of creatures available to you. A battle team is the three creatures you choose from that roster for a tactical grid battle.

Is the Bestiary the same as a collection?

No. Your collection lists the individual creatures you currently own. The Bestiary groups creatures by species and tracks which species you have discovered. A discovered species does not have to be in your current collection.

Are creatures of the same species identical?

Two Aevendorn creatures of the same species can differ. Each creature opened from a pack rolls its own stats and abilities from the base stats and gene pool for that species, so copies of one species are not necessarily identical.

Compare creatures in your collection, browse species in the bestiary, or see what happens when a pack repeats a species.

What happens when a pack repeats a species?

When a pack yields a creature from a species already in your Aevendorn collection, the creature is kept while you have fewer than four of that species. If you already have four, that later pack pull is converted into shards instead of being added to your collection.

Review your collection or open packs and use shards in the shop.

How fusion changes a collection

Bloodline fusion permanently consumes two selected parent creatures and creates one offspring, leaving the collection with one fewer creature after that fusion. The offspring draws abilities from the parents’ combined ability pool, has stats based on both parents, records both in its lineage, and may mutate.

Read the bloodline fusion guide or open the Fusion Chamber.
